"All These Things I've Done" by Gabrielle Zevin..

YA novel that takes place about 80 years into the future in NYC, at a time in which caffeine is illegal, chocolate is contraband, and nearly everything (even water) is rationed.
I absolutely loved everything about this book. I'd read 2 others by Zevin, (Elsewhere and Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac) and I love her writing style and how she keeps the reader engaged. Anya, the narrator, tells the story to the reader, sometimes even speaking directly to them. She is strong and likable, and her story is unique. I don't want to say anything to spoil the story, but I highly recommend! I'm already a chapter into part 2 of the trilogy!

The following comment was just found in the spam folder....sorry that happened, and thank you for contributing!

There's a series by Meg Cabot, author of the princess diaries that i just adore. The Airhead series! Its about a girl who is crushed by a giant television screen, only to find herself waking up in a different body! Now she has to deal with modeling, Boyfriends, best friends, and murderers!! The girl whose body she's in now had lots of problems, and now Emerson Watts has to deal with them. This is a great scifi series filled with romance, intrigue, and comedy. I loved it!

"Because it is My Blood" by Gabrielle Zevin

This is book 2 in the Birthright Trilogy, the follow-up to "All These Things I've Done."
I loved this one as much as the first! This one picks up I think 3 months after the end of the first, and wastes no time roping you right back in to Anya's story as she struggles to (among other things) protect what's left of her family, no matter the price. Another that I highly recommend :)
