At the end of week three of our adult summer reading program, "Catch a Great Book, " over 100 book entries have been turned in! Here are some of the fiction books that have earned a 5 star rating from one or more readers plus their comments:

The Hard Way by Lee Child
Great read and summer book, an adult beach book.

Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Written for teens, but if you like Harry Potter, you'll like this!

Terrorist by John Updike
I don't understand religious fundamentalism, but this book brought me closer than anhthing I've read to date.

How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Saved My Life by Mameve Medwed
Very enjoyable and well-written.

The Mercy Seat by Martyn Waites
Excellent!

Carved in Bone by Jefferson Bass
A new favorite.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling
Could not believe the ending!

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
Great suspense, excellent writing, very interesting ideas (theology) to those with open minds--fun!

Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult
Excellent!

The Rug Merchant by Meg Mullins
A lovely story of culture, heritage, friends and lovers.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See
Excellent!

Kill Me by Stephen White
Excellent Book!

Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
Wow! Great!

How I Paid for College: A Novel of Sex, Theft, Friendship and Musical Theater by Marc Acito
Really Funny!

5th Horseman by James Patterson
Great beach book, easy to read.
Read them in a series...this is #5.
